Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has revealed the man who finds himself first on Liverpool's team sheet under manager Jurgen Klopp: Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino.

Firmino has become a key part of Klopp's side since joining the club from Hoffenheim in 2015.

"He is as interested in setting someone up as scoring. He is always looking for other players," Gerrard told BBC Radio 5 live.

"I remember having a chat with Klopp in his early days and he was key with how he wants to play. He is the first name on Klopp's team sheet and I appreciate that," he added.

Steven Gerrard retired form football in 2016.

The Liverpool legend has since coached Liverpool's academy, and is now the manager at Rangers in the SPL.

Gerrard has made a strong start to management, with his side currently occupying second place - ahead of Celtic in sixth.
