Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande have signed Benfica playmaker Anderson Talisca on a six-month loan deal, ending speculation of a move to Manchester United.
Talisca is used to loan moves, having spent the last two seasons on temporary deals with Turkish outfit Besiktas.
A stellar 2017/18 campaign that saw him score 20 goals and create eight more in 47 appearances in all competitions led to linked with a number of top sides, including United, though it is Guangzhou who have won the battle for his signature.
The CSL club said on Friday: "Guangzhou Evergrande has officially announced the signing of an agreement with the Brazilian Anderson Talisca, who has been loaned for six months."
Much was expected from Talisca as a youngster, but despite being called up to the Brazil squad in 2014, he is yet to make an appearance for the full 'Seleçao' side
The 24-year-old joined Benfica in 2014 from Brazilian side Bahia, where he came through the academy
