Real Madrid confirmed Ramos' broken nose
Sergio Ramos was replaced by Nacho at the break of the Madrid derby. The captain was unable to continue after Lucas Hernandez accidentally kicked him in the face, fracturing his nasal septum.
Ramos did not come back out for the second half. It was understood he had broken his nose in the first half and the club finally confirmed the rumours.
The centre-back tried to get his head to the ball and Lucas, who wanted to intercept Casemiro's pass, kicked him in the face. It was the 36th minute and referee Fernandez Borbalan waved play on despite Ramos being flattened in the Atletico area with blood pouring from his nose.
Ramos played the final minutes of the first half but Zidane may have to do without his captain for longer than anticipated, with Real facing a crucial stage of the season without the experienced defender.
