According to 'Marca', Sergio Ramos called Carlo Ancelotti on the day of his presentation as Real Madrid coach to ask him to mediate for his future, as the Spanish centre-back wanted to continue playing for Real Madrid. But the Italian coach was unable to help him.

Sergio Ramos has already been presented as a star in the packed Parc des Princes, his new home, where he was acclaimed by thousands of Paris Saint-Germain fans eager to see him in action.

Although the former Madrid player has not yet been able to wear the Paris colours in an official match, his arrival at PSG has been one of the most talked-about transfers of the summer transfer window, with Leo Messi's permission, of course.

There were few who imagined seeing Ramos away from the Santiago Bernabeu, wearing a shirt other than that of Real Madrid, the team for which he has fought and fought for 16 long seasons.

But the long-awaited renewal with his alma mater did not come and the Spanish centre-back left for the French capital at the age of 35 to begin a new adventure in Ligue 1.

However, it seems that Ramos tried until the last moment to extend his contract with Real Madrid. This is according to the newspaper 'Marca', which reports that the Andalusian player even called Carlo Ancelotti on the day of his presentation as Real Madrid's new coach to congratulate him on his return and, incidentally, to ask him to mediate for his future.

Ramos wanted to stay at Real Madrid and for Ancelotti to help him, but the Italian replied that it was a matter he could not mediate in, as it was an issue he had to resolve with Florentino Perez himself. Apparently, Sergio understood this and days later his departure from Madrid was made official
