Having gone a goal down and been reduced to ten men early on against Japan and with talisman James Rodriguez not fit enough to start the game, things looked bleak for Colombia on Tuesday. Step forward Juan Quintero.

Trailing to Shinji Kagawa's early penalty, an incident which also saw Carlos Sanchez see red, Colombia faced an uphill battle to get something out of their Group H opener.

However, a moment of magic from Quintero just six minutes before the break helped them restore parity.

After Radamel Falcao 'bought' a free-kick on the edge of the box, Quintero stepped up to curl the ball below the wall and into the bottom corner, despite the best efforts of Japan goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima to become the first Colombian to score at two different World Cups.
