Harry Kane's wonderful run of form sees him lead a list of seven nominees for the Premier League Player of the Month award for September.

Kane's six goals in just four games leave him the overwhelming favourite to take home the gong, though he will face stiff competition.

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea hitman Diego Costa are also up for the award after they each scored four goals last month.

Premier League leaders Manchester City have two players in the running, with Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero both hoping to be named as the Premier League's best player in September.

Aguero is likely to be the main threat to Kane picking up the awar after he scored five goals and laid on three assists during a red-hot month before his progress was halted by a broken rib sustained in a car crash. Whilst Belgian De Bruyne scored once and set up three more as he continued to flourish in a deeper role.

Whilst the list is dominated by the Premier League's 'big boys', there is still room for two players from newly-promoted sides to be involved as well.

Brighton's Pascal Gross and Newcastle's Jamaal Lascelles also gain well deserved nominations.

Gross finished the month with two goals and two assists, with his goals proving key in firing 'the Seagulls' to their first ever Premier League win.

Lascelles meanwhile, also helped himself to two goals from centre-back as Newcastle continued their impressive start to the new season.
