Juventus were looking for a win which would give them the 2019-20 Serie A title against Sampdoria. And on the stroke of halftime, Miralem Pjanic assisted Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored the first goal of the match with a first time shot in a passage of play from the training ground.

Juventus and Sampdoria faced each other in matchday 36 of Serie A on Sunday. The Old Lady would lift the Serie A trophy if they got the three points.

Inter Milan beat Genoa 3-0, so Juve were forced to win if they wanted the win the league at the Juventus Stadium, and with two matches left.

The Turin side tried to do so in the whole of the first half, but the good work Audero and lack of understanding in attack meant the hosts couldn't find the opener.

Until, on the stroke of halftime, Juventus scored one from the training ground in a direct free-kick.

Miralem Pjanic faked the shot on goal and passed to the centre, where Cristiano Ronaldo appeared unmarked to send the ball into the top corner.
