Alan Pardew spoke with the press after his side were knocked out of the FA Cup by Southampton on Saturday. His team are bottom of the Premier League and are in desperate need of a win if they are to have any chance of survival.

West Brom are in trouble. Their FA Cup loss against Southampton on Saturday made it eight losses in seventeen games for Alan Pardew since he took the helm at the Hawthorns in November last year.

There is not much to be positive about for Pardew; his side are bottom of the Premier Leagueseven points from safety, they have won just one of their last 25 league games, four of his players recently got caught stealing a taxi in Spain at 5am, the list goes on...

The Midlands side face Huddersfield on Saturday, in what is a huge game for Pardew. Huddersfield currently occupy seventeenth, the spot West Brom must reach if they are to avoid relegation this season, making this a must-win game for the 'Baggies'.

Pardew recognised the trouble his side were in when he spoke to the press after the loss to Southampton, saying they needed to gain momentum. "We can only salvage it by getting some momentum," he said. "We had a little bit of momentum when we went to Liverpool and got that result. Unfortunately, we suffered four injuries that week."

"We've got to stay injury free, we've got to try and get a win against Huddersfield and take that momentum into the next few games because three wins in this division, as Swansea have proven, changes your position massively, and that's what we need to do.

"I thought there were some good things to take from the [FA Cup] game. I think anybody who was there will see that was a proper fight and a proper effort. We need to take that into the next game."

That next game will be vital for his side, and if they fail to secure the points things could begin to look very worrying for Pardew.
