Manchester City have confirmed that manager Pep Guardiola has tested positive for coronavirus and he will miss Friday's FA Cup third round tie away to League 2 Swindon Town.

Coronavirus cases are mounting at Man City. Manager Pep Guardiola and assistant Juanma Lillo have tested positive for COVID, the club have confirmed.

The Premier League club confirmed the news at midday local time (13:00 CET) and that both are now self isolating. Man City also revealed that they tested positive on Tuesday and that seven first team players and 14 backroom staff are self-isolating due to the virus. However, Friday's game will go ahead as planned and assistant coach Rodolfo Borrell will be in the charge.

Kick off for Friday's game at the County Ground is at 21:00 CET. The Sky Blues are the latest club to be affected after Liverpool had to close their training ground due to multiple COVID cases and their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg with Arsenal this Thursday was postponed.
