It was announced on Monday that Atletico Madrid's stadium, the Wanda Metropolitano, will host the final of the Copa del Rey on 21st April.

There was lots of speculation leading up to the decision about where might be the perfect location for Spain's league cup finale, with Barcelona also reportedly unhappy with the designated date.

However, both have been put to bed on Monday as the Spanish football association decided that the Wanda has all the necessary requirements to suit both finalists: the Catalan club and Sevilla, on the already pre-arranged day.

For starters, it has more than an optimal capacity at 68,000 with good transport connections to Barcelona and Seville which will please the two sets of fans.

Ironically, it will be the repeat of the final from two years ago, in which 'Los Cules' beat Sevilla with Atletico's stadium featuring as the main stage - although at that time, it was the Vicente Calderon.

Ernesto Valverde will be hoping for a similar result this time round but it will be difficult given the club's congested schedule in April which will see them play ten matches during the said month.
