West Ham manager David Moyes was interested in bringing Diaz to West Ham. The 'Mirror' has revealed that Moyes spoke to him on the phone and was about to make an agreement when Liverpool swooped in and the snatched the player from him.

During the January transfer window, Luis Diaz swapped Porto for Liverpool. However, he could have ended up at a different English club.

David Moyes has revealed that he wanted to bring Diaz to the London Stadium. "It's true I spoke with Luis Diaz on the phone and we were quite far down the line to sign him from Porto", as quoted by the 'Mirror'.

The manager believes that Liverpool then entered the equation and caused the deal to fall through. "My understanding is Liverpool were going to come in for him in the summer, and I was going to try and get him in January. I don't know if us trying to get him in January affected Liverpool's decision..."

In any case, Moyes highlighted Luis Diaz's quality and would have loved to see him at West Ham: "He's a really good player".

Luckily for Klopp, Liverpool were quick to swoop in and secure his signature. "Luiz Diaz is exceptional", the German coach commented recently.
