Álvaro Morata scored against Lokomotiv, but his happiness didn't last long as it was ruled out for offside. As such he became the first player in the history of the Champions League to have more than one goal ruled out by VAR.

The first half between Atlético Madrid and Lokomotiv Moscow had absolutely everything.

In the first few minutes, the referee gave the hosts a penalty that Trippier missed.

Then Joao Félix did convert his penalty in the 17th minute after a controversial handball in the area. But things don't stop there.

Minutes later in the 26th minute, Álvaro Morata made it 2-0 and practically put Atlético through to the last 16, but VAR ruled it out.

The referee, after consulting VAR, disallowed the goal for offside, and as such, he made Champions League history.

And in this way, Morata became the first player to have 2 goals disallowed by VAR in the history of the competition. The first was last year against Juventus in the last 16.
