Monaco managed to hold tight and score a late goal to beat Villarreal 1-0 on the night and win 3-1 on aggregate. Read to find out about tonight's Champions League qualifiers.

Monaco hold on

Monaco managed to see out a possible comeback from Villarreal with an impressive defensive display. The Spanish side managed just one shot on target in the whole game which fell to Santos Borre. The forward went one-on-one with the Monaco keeper but opted - wrongly - to shoot with the outside of his boot and his effort was stopped by Subasic. Late on, Monaco got a dubious penalty when Matteo Musacchio 'handballed' a low cross from Monaco's left-hand side. Replays showed that the ball hit the back of the defender's shoulder and should not have been a penalty. However, Fabinho made no mistake with the penalty and Monaco won 1-0 on the night and 3-1 on aggregate.

Porto beat nine-man Roma

Porto beat Roma 3-0 away from home, but were helped largely down to two sendings off for Roma. Firstly Danielle De Rossi was rightly sent off for a nasty challenge on Maxi Pereira in the 40th minute. However, Porto were already winning 1-0 at this point as Felipe Monteiro headed in from a free-kick. It then got even worse for Roma just five minutes after the break when Emerson was sent off for another poor challenge, this time on Corona. Porto then scored two goals in the 73rd and 75th minute courtesy of Layun and Corona respectively to give Porto a 3-0 victory on the night and 4-1 on aggregate.

Celtic withstand Hapoel Be'er Sheva comeback

Celtic just about managed to get through their tie against Hapoel Be'er Sheva as the Israeli side won 2-0 on the night, but lost 4-5 on aggregate. Goals from Ben Sahar (21 mins) and Ovidiu Hoban (48 mins) set up a nervy second half for the Scottish side, but Brendan Rodgers' men managed to hang on.

No fairytale, but briliant memories for valiant Dundalk

Dundalk missed out on what would have been a historic achievement in qualifying for the Champions League. However, the Irish side probably scored the best goal of the night when Robbie Benson smashed home a beautifully struck volley. Hlousek was sent off for Legia Warsaw in the 67th minute but the Polish side scored a late equaliser in the 90th minute to ensure a 3-1 aggregate win.

Ludogorets see off Victoria Plzen

The match ended 2-2 on the night, meaning that Ludogorets qualify for the Champions League group stages thanks to a 4-2 aggregate win. Plzen took the lead through Duris in the 7th minute but Ludogorets equalised through a Vura Misidjan goal on 17 minutes. Plzen re-took the lead through a goal from Mateju (64 mins) but Keseru equalised once again for Ludogorets in the 90th minute.
