'Mirror': United meet with Jorginho's agent
According to 'The Mirror' , Manchester United have met with the midfielder's representatives to discuss a potential move as the 'Red Devils' look to bolster the position during the summer.
It's already turned into a bit of a soap opera. Joao Santos, the player's agent, came out last Tuesday to cool suggestions that negotiations had begun with the Premier League outfit about a summer transfer.
However, the aforementioned English newspaper has claimed that the situation has now changed following Italy's defeat to Argentina on Friday.
They report that United met with Santos and Jorginho, amid speculation that the Napoli man is one of Jose Mourinho's top targets.
They face stiff competition from rivals Liverpool and Arsenal though, who are allegedly following the midfielder after his impressive performances in Serie A this season.
The 26-year-old has made 32 appearances so far, scoring four goals, and has been a pivotal part of Napoli's challenge for the league title, in which they are just two points behind Juventus with nine games remaining.
With Michael Carrick set for retirement at the end of this campaign and Paul Pogba faultering in midfield, United are keen to bring in more reinforcements and the Italy international will have the perfect opportunity to impress when his national side take on England on Tuesday.
