Dutch international defender Bruno Martins Indi is believed to have flown to England on Tuesday night to complete the formalities of a deal that will see him re-join Stoke City.

The player is set to undergo a medical before completing a move for a fee in the region of £7.25m.

The Porto man spent last season on loan with Mark Hughes' side, making 35 Premier League appearances in the pocess, but it looked like he would not be returning to the 'Potters' when Stoke baulked at the £13.4m option to buy that had been included in the player's loan contract.

That appeared to have opened the door for a move to Crystal Palace but the 25-year-old is alleged to have failed to turn up for a medical at Selhurst Park.

Stoke plan to make room for Martins Indi's arrival by allowing fellow defender Marc Muniesa to move to La Liga side Girona on loan.

Muniesa made just 11 appearances for Stoke last season and the Catalan is keen on securing more regular first team football.
