Manchester United Anthony Martial had spent much of Saturday's clash with Chelsea on the periphery, that was until he struck from close range to draw his side level at Stamford Bridge 10 minutes into the second half and found the net again late on to turn the game on its head.

Paul Pogba's mistake had allowed Antonio Rudiger to head the hosts into the lead in a first half with few chances and having dominated possession in the opening 45, Chelsea continued to do so after the break.

The 'blues' were looking the more likely when United struck against the run of play to draw themselves level.

Having not had a shot on target in 55 minutes, two in 60 seconds proved key. Juan Mata's fierce volley was somehow kept out by Kepa down to his right, but Chelsea failed to clear the ball convincingly, presenting United with another chance.

Ashley Young's drilled effort bobbled around in the danger zone, taking deflections off both Marcus Rashford and Jorginho before falling perfectly for Martial to drill home from close range.

Chelsea protested that United should have put the ball out for Marcos Alonso to receive treatment, but there was nothing really wrong with the Spaniard and play was allowed to continue around him.

The intensity of the game stepped up a notch at that point, with both sides threatening.

It would be United who would score the all-important third goal, though, as Martial struck again with 17 minutes to go.

Juan Mata beat David Luiz to a long ball down the right and took him out of the game. The ball was worked out to Martial on the left, his touch appeared to have let him down but he was able to recover to curl low into the far corner from just inside the box to complete the turnaround.
