The Premier League leaders are now the favourites to win the Champions League this year according to the bookmakers, after the draw for the last 16 on Monday afternoon.

The draw for the last 16 of the Champions League has provided some enthralling ties for football fans around the world to analyse before the first leg in February. The favourable draw for Manchester City and Bayern Munich has meant they are now amongst the favourites to win this year's elite European competition.

Pep Guardiola's side are now the number one candidates to take home the trophy, with odds of 3/1 with leading bookmakers. In second place are Bayern Munich, with the bookies offering odds of 4/1 for the Bundesliga outfit to go all the way this year.

Bayern are then closely followed by PSG, who are more likely to win the title than holders Real Madrid. The bookies think the Ligue 1 leaders will eliminate Los Blancos, and are offering odds of 5/1 for them to lift the trophy for the first time in their history. A third consecutive victory for Real Madrid, on the other hand, is being valued at a relatively high 8/1.

Finally, the bookmakers believe Barcelona will dispatch Chelsea, but they are less likely to win the Champions League than Manchester City, Bayern and PSG. A European triumph for the Catalan giants has been given odds of 15/2, a similar figure to that of their eternal rivals Real Madrid. Following their tough draw, the Blues are not out at 25/1 to win their second Champions League trophy.

The rest of the favourites have less favourable odds than the ones mentioned. Manchester United (14/1), Liverpool (14/1) and Juventus (18/1) have a tough task to win the trophy this year, but even further out are Tottenham (25/1), Roma (33/1), Sevilla (100/1), Besiktas (100/1), Porto, (125/1), Shakhtar Donetsk (175/1), and Basel (250/1).
