Louis van Gaal has made it clear. He will not be happy if The Netherlands come second, he wants to win the World Cup. That is how convincing the boss was before this Saturday's game against USA for a place in the quater-finals.
The Netherlands go up against USA. They are their next opponent in the last-16, Van Gaal has already been putting pressure on his players.
"We want to be world champions, we 've got four games left; then we'll see what happens", Van Gaal said in the press conference which happened in the National Centre of Conventions in Qatar, after being asked by a Belgian journalist whether he would like to manage Belgium.
"I said in an interview that if we won the World Cup, I'd for sure get offers, but, at the moment, we're not the world champions; and according to the Dutch press, we won't be", the ex-Barcelona boss claimed this Friday when talking to the tournament's main press.
"Belgium is a wonderful country, I really like it; but they'd first have to convince my wife", the Dutch manager joked.
"No but seriously, this is the type of decision I make. At the moment I'm working with The Netherlands, and we want to win", Van Gaal indicated, who has gone 18 games unbeaten as Dutch coach and who has only lost one in the 46 games he has been manager.
