We take a look ahead to Saturday's Premier League clash between Manchester City and Newcastle United at the Etihad.

Man City: Midfielder David Silva could return having missed the loss against Liverpool with a stomach problem. Danilo is expected to start at left-back with Fabian Delph having picked up a knee injury at Anfield. Captain Vincent Kompany could also miss out once again with a calf problem, whilst long-term absentees Benjamin Mendy, Gabriel Jesus (both knee) and Phil Foden (ankle) remain sidelined.

Newcastle: Striker Dwight Gayle is facing a late fitness test after picking up a knock in the 1-1 draw with Swansea last time out, whilst former Manchester City man Florian Lejeuene is also a doubt with a foot problem. Experienced defender Jesus Gamez remains unavailable.

The thoughts of City boss Pep Guardiola on Alexis Sanchez's impending move to Manchester United:

"He [Sanchez] is still an Arsenal player and it looks like he will go to United, so congratulations and good luck to them.

"My opinion of Alexis remains the same. It was a pleasure to be with him at Barcelona. He has decided to move on to another club and I wish him all the best."

The thoughts of Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez on the failed takeover bid:

"When I was talking to Mike Ashley, he told me the takeover would not go through.

"We are doing what we have to do in this transfer window and preparing for the game.

"In terms of training, nothing changes. In terms of the transfer window, we have targets, we have names and we are trying to progress."
