Man City shed light on Leo Messi rumours
Manchester City referred to the reports suggesting the Premier League club were prepared to meet the Argentine's release clause.
According to Spanish daily 'Mundo Deportivo', having reportedly consulted the English club, Manchester City have not considered this option, aware of the fact that Messi would flatly reject the proposal.
As reported by the mentioned source, rumours could have started due to a statement offered by City owner Al-Nahyan, in which the chief at the Etihad assured his side would carry out the most expensive signing ever this summer.
But it seems the signing Al-Nahyan was referring to was that of Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean is important at Arsenal and Wenger doesn't want to let him go, but the right fee could make him change his mind.
