Manchester City got a comfortable win after an impressive all-round display, with Tottenham second best throughout the entire fixture.

Tottenham had the first chance of the game as Ederson raced off his line to deny Alli. It looked a bright start for Pochettino's side as they attempted to put Manchester City's defence, with new faces Walker and Danilo starting, under pressure.

However, after enjoying the better of the early exchanges, Spurs were taken aback as City converted their first chance in the 10th minute. De Bruyne whipped in a cross which took a deflection and found Stones only a few yards out. The defender made no mistake to head the ball past Lloris.

Guradiola's team piled on the chances immediately after taking the lead, with De Bruyne, Danilo and Gabriel Jesus all trying their luck.

Tottenham's defence looked unconvincing as Manchester City took advantage of the spaces, but the Skyblues almost rued the chances missed as Eriksen forced Ederson into action from a free kick.

Manchester City continued to run at Tottenham's back three, with neat interplay awarding them the clearest chances of the first half. Gabriel Jesus and Danilo attempted to double their team's lead, but Lloris did well to deny their efforts.

An entertaining end to the half saw Kane fire over the bar with only Ederson to beat, before De Bruyne put the goal on a plate for Gabriel Jesus at the other, but the Brazilian miscued his finish and almost sent it out for a throw-in.

Manchester City continued to dominate after the break, as things began to get feisty. Late tackles and angry reactions abounded as chances came scarce in the first 15 minutes of the second period.

Aguero came on for Gabriel Jesus and instantly brought flare back to City's attack. The striker was first played through on goal by Danilo's great pass, but Ederson blocked the ball well.

The Argentine could not believe his luck as he struck the same post twice in three minutes. He did well to create both glorious chances inside the box for himself, but was unlucky in his finishing.

City finally managed to double their lead, but it wasn't through Aguero. Sterling scuffed his finish into the corner after Nasri's through ball left the winger alone in front of Vorm.

After being on the back foot for much of the encounter Tottenham looked to finish the game strongly. Eriksen had a go from distance before Janssen tried to score an open goal, but subsitute keeper Muric did well to ensure a clean sheet for his side.

Pochettino will be left with much to ponder after the fixture, especially after City banged in a third in stoppage time. The ball fell kindly for substitute Diaz to find the back of the net from close range.
