The Balearic club have issued a statement to make clear their position against any racist act. They have activated the corresponding protocol and are collaborating with the police.

Real Madrid's visit to Palma de Mallorca left a competitive match between the two sides, but also an embarrassing scene during the celebration of Aurelien Tchouameni's goal. 'Movistar Plus' cameras captured a fan making racist gestures as he addressed the 'Merengues' players. An image that quickly went viral and reached the Balearic club hours later.

The club have already made their move. Mallorca have issued a statement in which they make their position very clear: "In the match between Mallorca and Real Madrid, images have been identified in which a person made racist gestures. The club activated the protocol against violence in football and is already collaborating with the National Police in the identification of this person".

"RCD Mallorca will not tolerate any manifestation of racism and actively participates in all campaigns to eradicate this scourge that goes beyond sport. Once again, we would like to thank the fans for their exemplary behaviour. May an isolated case not tarnish the respect and sportsmanship of Mallorquinismo," the club added in their statement.
