Real Madrid are plotting a move for Manchester City play maker Bernardo Silva, as they look to revitalise their first team squad.

Santiago Solari's side sit seven points adrift of Barcelona at the La Liga summit, and as such, the club hierarchy are keen to add some much needed fresh faces to the dressing room. Top of the list, according to 'The Mirror', is none other than Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese has three years remaining on his current deal with the Premier League champions, but given the interest of the Spanish giants, City may be forced to enter extension talks with the player.

It is said that Madrid believe Silva could add some spark and creativity to their attacking line, with the likes of Marco Asensio, Isco Alarcon and Lucas Vazquez struggling to provide consistent support to main striker Karim Benzema.  However, having said this, manager Pep Guardiola sees Bernardo as the natural heir to veteran and namesake David Silva. Therefore, it would take an extraordinary offer to prise the player away from the Etihad stadium.

Bernardo Silva joined Manchester City from French outfit AS Monaco in 2017, for a fee of £43.5million, and while he had to wait for his chance in a star studded lineup, he is now a mainstay of the side.
