Luis Suarez pulled one back for Atletico Madrid in their La Liga game against Barcelona. The former Barca player took advantage of the fact that Gimenez flicked on a corner with his head and Suarez was completely unmarked to beat Ter Stegen. He did not celebrate the goal because of his Barca past.

In the La Liga match between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, Atletico Madrid's Luis Suarez scored against his old club to keep things interesting. Barcelona were 4-1 up after 57 minutes when the Uruguayan appeared in a corner to reduce the difference to two goals.

After the corner was taken, Gimenez flicked on with his head and the unmarked striker ended up sending the ball into the back of the Barca net. The goalkeeper had no space or time to react and he could not do anything to stop it.

The former Barca player not only did not celebrate the goal, but also apologised to those in the stands at the Camp Nou. That is, of course, a common gesture made by those footballers who score against a club they had previously played for. The striker had some of the best moments of his career as Barca career and he has fond memories of his Barcelona past.

Curiously, Suarez had a great chance to make it 4-3 just seconds after this goal, but he was unable to beat Ter Stegen. What he did manage to do was keep the second half interesting. It was a very entertaining second period played at a very fast tempo and with plenty of promising attacks for both sides.
