Brazil coach Tite confirmed in a press conference that Renan Lodi was left out of the latest squad because he is not fully vaccinated. The Atletico Madrid full-back could not have travelled to Ecuador as the country's COVID laws would not have allowed him in.
Renan Lodi has been left out of Brazil's most recent squad because he is still not fully vaccinated. Apart from the fact Tite believes in getting the vaccine, the main reason is that their next game is away to Ecuador and the country's coronavirus rules do not allow him to enter.
Renan Lodi missed out on the squad as he is not vaccinated. This information came to light so there was no chance of playing him. I, in particular, understand that getting vaccinated is a social responsibility. I teach that to my family, to people I'm responsible for, like my grandchildren," the coach said in a press conference.
"We respect the laws of the country, unlike what Argentina did when they came here," the coach added in a clear swipe at the Argentinian FA and national team. Juninho Paulista, who holds an important position in the Brazilian FA (CBF) was also with him.
"Lodi has his first dose on 10th Jnauary so he could not travel to Ecuador due to the country's coronavirus laws. Another important player to miss out is Neymar, but that is because of injury.
