Liverpool star Salah calls out 'disrespect' towards departed forwards
Mohamed Salah has criticised a social media post he deemed disrespectful to Liverpool's recently departed forwards, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz.
The Liverpool winger responded after a fan account with over half a million followers mocked the duo in comparison to new signings.
The post featured black-and-white images of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz alongside new arrivals Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, accompanied by the caption: "Name a bigger upgrade in footballing history."
Salah hit back, defending his former teammates' contributions. "How about we celebrate the great signings without disrespecting the Premier League champions?" he wrote, highlighting the role Nunez and Diaz played in securing Liverpool's 20th league title last season.
The account quickly issued an apology, clarifying their intentions. "It wasn't meant to disrespect, more to highlight the incredible transfers this summer. But we're sorry," they said.
