Bernardo Silva floated the ball in behind for David Silva and the Dutchman with a crucial clearance as the Spaniard looked to put the ball in.

The midfielder gets a second booking for a tackle from behind on Aguero. He appears to get the ball, but also the striker with his trailing foot.

Danilo's cross was not cleared well by Holgate and Sterling volleyed straight into the bottom corner. Game on!

The first half went from better to worse for City. Guardiola's team dominated throughout the early minutes, but Rooney gave his team the lead. Shortly after, Walker was sent off, leaving his team much work to do in the second half.

Walker receives a second yellow in two minutes. He was deemed to have intentionally gone into Calvert-Lewin as they fought for an aerial ball.

Jesus chests the ball down but can only direct his volley at Pickford from eight yards.

De Bruyne threads the ball for Jesus inside the area, but he is powered off the ball by Keane. No penalty.

Everton lead at the Etihad!

Well that's unlucky for City, and it's former United man Rooney who gets it. Calvert-Lewin finds the Englishman unmarked in the box and Rooney side-foots his finish through Ederson's legs and off the post before hitting the back of the net.

Silva rattles the post!

Aguero finds Silva on the left side of the box, the Spaniard brings the ball down and fires a thunderous strike which bounces off the upright.

What a chance Aguero!

The Citizens are getting closer and closer. Aguero just lingered on the ball to much and tried to go around Jagielka instead of firing home from 10 yards. In the end, he lost the ball earning him looks of disappointment from his teammates.

City close!

Pickford saves Otamendi's initial shot well, before the ball falls to Aguero. The striker tries to dink the ball over the keeper but it's cleared by Jagielka.

Straight at the other end as Calvert-Lewin brings the ball under control and plays it for Davies in the middle. The youngster's low shot is wide of the target.

De Bruyne with a shot from 20 yards, and Pickford holds onto the ball.

Jesus over!

The striker went for a long-distance strike which fizzed over the bar.

Aguero off target!

Sane plays the corner kick to the back post where Aguero brings it down, but turns to his left foot and flashes it well wide.

An early sliding tackle on Aguero means the midfielder goes in the book.

Chance City!

The low cross was served by De Bruyne from the left and the ball came off Rooney. Decent reaction from Pickford to hang onto the ball that was going in for an own goal.

Calvert-Lewin wide!

Good volley from the striker but it drifts across the face off Ederson's goal and wide.

Otamendi has a go!

First spell of possession for the hosts. Otamendi with an ambitious long-range effort, straight at Pickford.
