Marseille player Mattéo Guendouzi gave an interview to 'RMC Sport' in which he slammed Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta. The young midfielder said that leaving the Gunners was one of the best decisions of his life.
Matteo Guendouzi is having a great season since his arrival at Marseille from Arsenal, where he went out the back door. Currently, he is out on loan, but his team are clear that they will use the option to buy him in June, which costs 12 million euros.
The French midfielder took place in a programme on 'RMC Sport' and he slammed his soon to be old club: "It was a careful considered choice. There were very good discussions with the president, the coach and people from my family. We really made the best decision together. For me, it's the best decision I've made in many years."
"President Longoria and coach Jorge Sampaoli are the people who presented me the project and who were keen for me to come. We spoke about the Marseille project, what I could bring to the team, how I was going. how I was going to grow. I know when I came here, that I was going to keep on growing whether it be as a person or a as a footballer," he continued.
Guendouzi was kept out of Mikel Arteta's team in 2020. Now, the Frenchman wants to consolidate himself in Marseille's midfield and therefore have a chance of going to the World Cup in Qatar.
