The English defender was given a leave of absence this week because his girlfriend is heavily pregnant.

Kyle Walker missed Manchester City's friendly against Girona on Tuesday but his coach says he will be available for the Everton clash on Monday night.

"Kyle’s wife is pregnant. He’s almost a father again,’ Guardiola said. ‘That’s why he stayed here for the beautiful moment."

Pep also maintained that he would be satisfied with the current City squad if a deal for Jonny Evans does not come to fruition.

City have had two bids rejected, the higher being £18 million, but Tony Pulis has suggested the Baggies would sell for the right price.

"Evans is a player for West Brom. Tony was clear. We tried to do the best squad as possible, it’s a long season.

"We’re going to see how the market finishes. We have to stay with the players we have right now then we’re happy.

"If someone comes then we’re happy too. I know what the club wants. We try to do our best, sometimes it’s possible sometimes not.

‘"Every season I start believing my players are the best. I talk to (director of football) Txiki (Begiristain), all the players at the club, everyone has their own opinions. We talk about making our club stronger."
