The Croatia international is having a tough time at Real Madrid, but has quashed rumours of a return to Inter because he doesn't want to work with a figure at the club.

Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic has ruled out a return to Inter Milan while Roberto Mancini remains in charge.

After leaving the San Siro for the Bernabeu in 2015, the 22-year-old has failed to establish himself as a first team regular, fuelling speculation that he could be headed for an exit.

His former club have been heavily linked with a move for the Croatian, but the player has said he will not return whilst the Italian coach is there.

"I won't go back there with Mancini on the bench," he said.

"I had a weird relationship with him, but these are personal things and it's best not to get into them.

"I don't know what will happen in the future, nobody does. I had two-and-a-half years with Inter and I'm a fan."
