The Dutch manager has seen his side routed 3-0 twice in only six days, and has admitted he is "worried" by Everton's form.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has admitted that a summit meeting will be held with key Everton players, following the team's capitulation away to Atalanta.

The 'Toffees' looked out of ideas and energy in Italy, succumbing to their second 3-0 defeat in just six days after losing at home to Tottenham in the Premier League.

The Merseyside team spent upwards of £130m in the summer transfer windows, and Koeman is aware that the slump in results cannot carry on much longer.

"I will have a meeting with most of the players – with the key players," said Koeman.

"A young talent of 18 or 19? Ok. But it's time for the experienced players to stand up.

"I am worried about what I saw yesterday. I wasn't so worried after Chelsea. It (his worries) start already with the reaction in the second half against Tottenham. That 45 minutes and the first 45 minutes of yesterday are enough reason to be worried.

"I saw a team with a lot of doubts. One of our strengths last season was that we had good defensive organisation and now we have lost our strength. It was painful.

"They showed more ambition, more aggression and in the way they defend, so close and tight. There was a big difference."

Koeman also insisted that his side need time to gel too, and that expectations shouldn't be set overly high from the offset when it comes to the impact of summer signings.

"Maybe it's really easy to tell everybody that Everton will be fourth in the table and will fight for the Champions League because they have spent a lot of money," Koeman said.

"But maybe the rest of the teams have spent even more money. And they didn't spend that money this summer because they already have the team they need.

"Our team is in transition. Everybody knows as young player and foreign player coming to the Premier League, they need time."

He added: "Everybody knows if you come to the league as a foreign player you need time. Big teams that get big signings, they get one year to adapt.

"We have other players with doubts. I don't want to make it individual because it's a team performance, but we need to be more aggressive."
