Anti-racism campaigner Lord Herman Ouseley has hit out at the 'shameful silence' on the abuse being received by Raheem Sterling.

Lord Ouseley has called for leading lights in football to tackle the concerns over Sterling, with many considering his treatment to be racially motivated.

Sterling has frequently been made a target in the tabloids, seemingly unable to do anything without generating negative headlines.

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright added his voice to the debate earlier in the week, claiming that it was nothing short of racism, and other people have shared his opinion.

"Where is the FA on this? Where is the Premier League on this? Where are the PFA and LMA on this?" Lord Ouseley said.

"Where are the voices of the leaders in football on this? Are they happy to see a young black talent driven out of the English game because he is vilified unreasonably and unjustifiably while the governing bodies maintained a shameful silence?"
