Benfica, the club that already had him in their ranks, would be one step away from announcing his return. According to Fabrizio Romano, the announcement by the 'Eagles' is a matter of days. As soon as the Portuguese club have all the relevant documentation and some details of the contract are agreed, Di Maria will sign his contract.
The winger wanted to return at all costs to the team he left in 2010 for Real Madrid. He will commit to Benfica for one season, until 30th June 2024.
