Gabriel Jesus has hailed Kevin De Bruyne as "one of the best players in the world" after his fantastic display in Manchester City's 7-2 victory over Stoke.

Pep Guardiola's side moved two points clear at the top of the Premier League table after the home win over Stoke, as the Belgian playmaker set up four goals on his 100th Manchester City appearance.

After the game, Stoke boss Mark Hughes said De Bruyne was "head and shoulders above anyone else in the Premier Leauge" and his team-mate Gabriel Jesus, who scored a brace in the emphatic victory, was also full of praise for the 26-year-old.

The Brazil striker, who scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season on Saturday, said after the game: "He is one of the best players in the world.

"His quality is outstanding as an individual out on the pitch, but it's the way that he makes that work for the whole team, and connects with the other players, that makes him special."

The City fans sang De Bruyne's name throughout the second half, despite the fact that he wasn't on the scoresheet himself, but Jesus says he deserves the fan's appreciation.

"Kevin deserves the love from the fans," added Jesus. "We can't decide who they show their affection to but the important thing is that every player gives their all out on the pitch.

"We are scoring goals, making assists and winning games and that is the main thing."
