Manchester City defender Jason Denayer is flying to Turkey ahead of a loan move to Galatasaray.

The 22-year-old is aware of the fact he will not get much game time under Pep Guardiola this season and feels another loan spell is needed to keep his career moving forward.

City were pushing for a loan move to sister club Girona, but Denayer rejected the opportunity and will instead move back to Turkey.

Lyon were also interested in securing the talented defender's services, but Denayer accused City of blocking any potential move.

He said, 'Lyon was a perfect club, an ambitious team in a good league. We had an agreement with OL, but not City, who absolutely want to loan me to Girona.

'But they have been promoted, play on the counterattack, it's a small city, they have few fans, totally the opposite of Lyon.'

Celtic made an approach but were rejected as the Belgian had already agreed a move to Galatasaray, where he spent the 2015-16 season.
