Everton defender Phil Jagielka claims he won the ball after he was sent off against Wolves on Saturday.
The 'Toffees' drew 2-2 with Wolves, and the Englishman was forced to leave the field in the 40th minute after a poorly-timed challenge on Diogo Jota.
On a post on Instagram, Jagielka said: "Well done boys for a battling performance! Congrats to @richarlison for ⚽️⚽️ on your debut.
"As for me I had a bad touch then tried to make up for it with a honest strong tackle, in my eyes I made a good attempt to get the ball (which I did) and I also can see I got player after.
"Gutted to be sent off but proud of the performance of the boys! COYB."
Everton boss Marco Silva also commented on the decision, which resulted in a free-kick converted by Wolves' Ruben Neves.
"I saw it. It looked a really harsh decision."
