Italy asks for Robinho to be sent back to prison
The Italian justice system has requested Robinho's imprisonment. The former Brazilian footballer was accused in 2013 of raping a 23-year-old girl along with five other men and remains at large.
Former Brazilian footballer Robinho is still at liberty at the age of 39 but the Italian justice system insisted on requesting his imprisonment.
The former Manchester City player was accused of raping a 23-year-old girl along with five other men in 2013. He was convicted in 2017 but his case was not dealt with until 2022.
Robinho was sentenced on 19th January 2022 to serve nine years in prison. However, the extradition is not authorised in Brazil.
Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira said they will have to deal with the case from the Ministry of Justice.
