Negredo has said his decision to leave Man City after one season was a stupid.

Alvaro Negredo joined Manchester City in 2013 from Sevilla. He left the club in 2015 for Valencia but played just one season for the Premier League club, while he spent the other season on loan at Valencia.

He's still playing for the Spanish club and is currently loaned out to Middlesbrough, where he'll stay until the end of the season.

The Spaniard will face his former team tomorrow in their Premier League clash. He believes it wasn't a good decision to leave City a few years ago.

"I started the season well and the fans saw what I could do when I was 100 per cent fit," the 31-year-old told 'The Sun'.

"But from February I suffered from a shoulder injury which I never really recovered from. When you have a niggling injury like that, it stops you showing your best form. And I don't feel I ever regained the manager's trust".

He continued: "So unfortunately things didn't turn out how I wanted them to. I do think I made a mistake to go back to Spain when I was doing things well in the Premier League.

"But thankfully now I've been given the chance to come back and start this other chapter here in England again":
