Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola was asked about the draw for the Champions League quarter-finals. The English club still has to play the return leg for the round of 16 against Madrid, which is why Guardiola preferred not to speculate on the rival since he still has to beat the 'Champions League kings'.

The Premier League is already in the hands of Liverpool. Therefore, Manchester City's goal is to go through in their fight for Champions League, competition in which they are still alive.

This Friday the quarter-finals were drawn. But the 'Citizens' still have to play the second leg against Real Madrid. Olympique Lyon or Juventus would be their hypothetical rivals in the next phase.

"We'll play the first leg there and we'll play the second leg at home. It's normal, it's not about having an advantage. The qualifiers are always at home and away," he said in statements collected by 'AS' on that match that is pending and to be held at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola does not think about anything else, he is focused only on Real Madrid. He believes that if they go ahead and think about the quarterfinals, the opponents will punish them severely. "We have to play Madrid first. If we go further and look at the next round, the kings of the competition will throw us out," said Guardiola.

"There's no one in City who knows Madrid as well as I do. I know how we have to play," concluded Guardiola. In the first leg, he already proved it: his team won 2-1 against Real Madrid.
