Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos spoke to Spanish Youtuber Ibai Llanos on Twitch to talk about several topics. Ramos talked about Barca's elimination from the Champions League, Cristiano Ronaldo's, his own future and the possible signings of Mbappe and Haaland.

Sergio Ramos was the guest on Ibai Llanos' programme 'Charlando tranquilamente' on Twitch. He has interviewed Gerard Pique and Sergio Aguero in the past.

In an relaxed atmosphere, Llanos did not hesitate to ask about recent events such as Barcelona's elimination from the Champions League and Ramos did not hide his delight.

"The satisfaction of seeing Barca knocked out is there, I have more fights with them and they are a rivl. Also, Keylor Navas is at PSG. I don't like laughing because next week it could happen to us. I don't wish anything bad on anybody, but we are still alive at the moment. But you have to be careful with Atalanta," he said.

Ramos also talked about Juventus and his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo getting knocked out. "It shows you that football is more and more even. Juve were the favourites, but you can't disrespect any opponent. But them getting knocked out is indifferent to me," Ramos continued.

A possible renewal and a departure in style

Ibai then asked Ramos a question all Real Madrid fans are asking: his future at the club. The defender spoke openly about it and made a wish if he ended up leaving.

"I'm optimistic and I believe in work. And when you work, things turn out well. But on the new deal, there's no news, no one is more worried than I am. If I end up leaving, what I want is to have a clear conscience. That is what I'd like, I'd like to leave how I think I deserve, in style after having given everything for this club," he said.

Ramos at 2026 World Cup?

Ramos then spoke about his current fitness and he seemed more than optimistic. "I feel stronger. Being 34 now is like being 28 ten years back.  I see myself leaving football through a mental problem rather than a physical issue, as I look after that to perfectly. I could make the 2026 World Cup, I'd be the only player to play in six World Cups," he explained.

Then, the central defender spoke openly about some of the worst moments in his career and he talked about the coach who had made the most impact on his career. "One of the toughest moments in my career was getting knocked out by Ajax when I was in the VIP area. With regards to coaches, the one who has most had an impact on my career was Joaquin Caparros." He was the man who gave Ramos his La Liga debut for Sevilla in 2003-04.

The controversy in the derby and his strangest teammate

Llanos then asked Sergio Ramos about the controversy in the recent clash with Atletico Madrid as Real fans wanted a penalty for a handball by Felipe. The referee went to the monitor, but stuck with his on field call of no penalty.

"When the VAR calls the referee over, it's because there's something. The handball in the derby could easily be given," Sergio Ramos said. That match ended 1-1.

One of the funniest topics mentioned was who is the strangest teammate Ramos has had throughout his career. Ramos was clear: "Here I think Faubert wins the prizem without a doubt," he said while laughing. Faubert was at the club for half a season in 2008-09 and he ended falling asleep during one game. "I remember that he fell asleep. He's French. I don't know if it was to do with the jet lag or something," the 34 year-old joked.

Haaland or Mbappe?

Ibai then asked Ramos about his future at Real Madrid future and the possible signings for the club in the summer. Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland have been linked with a move there.

The defender praised the young PSG and Dortmund stars, but he said that Haaland was easier to get because of PSG's financial muscle.

"I'd like both to come, but as of today, it would be easier to sign Haaland. The financial terms are more difficult with Mbappe. Haaland wouldn't be bad because of his hunger for goal, his titles, importance, speed... I think it would be easier to reach an agreement with him."

Ronaldo's departure and Messi's possible departure from Barca

Ibai then talked about Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Ramos first spoke about his former teammate and what his departure meant for Real Madrid.

"With Cristiano's departure, Cristiano lost out and Real Madrid lost out. I wouldn't have let him go," Ramos said on a footballer who went to Juventus after winning four of the last five Champions Leagues between 2014 and 2018.

On Messi, Ramos was also very sincere about how difficult it is has been facing him all these years. "We've suffered during the best years of his career and as long as you aren't facing him, it's great. I'd give him if he decided to come," he laughed.

'Clasicos' under Mourinho and his best defensive paretnerships: Pepe and... Pique!!

He finished about talking about the tense 'Clasicos' that took place when Jose Mourinho was Real Madrid boss. "It was a difficult time. I was very hot headed at that time and Mourinho also thought that hugging an opponent while losing wasn't good. But we met with the Barca players to sign a non-aggression pact. But we were with another mentality which we fortunately managed to change in this to also win things with the national team," he recalled.

When asked about his best defensive partnerships, Ramos gave two names apart from his current central defensive partner: With Pique and Pepe I've formed great central defensive partnerships. I also think me and Varane make a great partnership," he concluded.
