Mauricio Pochettino complained about a possible foul by Karim Benzema on Gianluigi Donnarumma in the 1-1 goal. The PSG coach was upset about VAR staying quiet.
PSG were knocked out of the Champions League in disappointing fashion. After winning the first leg 1-0 and going 0-1 up in the second leg, Real Madrid went on to win 3-1 with a Benzema hat-trick in the space of 20 minutes.
Mauricio Pochettino on 'RMC Sport', complained about the incident which changed the game. Karim Benzema scored to make it 1-1 and that put fear in PSG's minds.
"It's unbelievable the foul on Donnarumma that hasn't been overturned by the VAR. It's a very clear foul by Benzema, in my opinion. All angles show that there was a foul. I don't understand why there was no VAR at that moment," the PSG coach.
Pochettino is clear that that was the turning point: "The tie was decided in those 10 minutes. We were the better team in those two matches. Football is about managing the moments of games well and it's true that we crumbled a bit. It's impossible to explain."
Pochettino was very badly affected by the elimination and he could be sacked by PSG: "It's impossible to talk about that now. We're very disappointed. We're all going to have recover from this because it's a very difficult moment for us," he said.
"When you concede a goal like we did, the game changes, the mood in the stadium does as well. The fans got behind their team and everything changed," he concluded.
