'I truly believe that at City he will make a difference'
Former Barcelona star Ronaldinho has the named the player he thinks will be key to Manchester City's future success, but which of their many stars has he gone for?
City have an embarrassment of riches in their squad, with manager Pep Guardiola recently declaring a defensive shortage following John Stons' injury, despite having £30m pair Nicolas Otamendi and Eliquim Mangala in reserve. For Ronaldinho though, there is one stand-out player that he is looking forward to watching in the coming years.
Gabriel Jesus has scored ten goals in 17 games for City in all competitions so far this season and his follow countryman is a huge fans of his talents.
"I totally believe he will have a big part to play for City going forward," Ronaldinho told the 'Daily Mirror'. "I love his style of playing. I truly believe that at City he will make a difference."
Meanwhile, the former Brazil international also believes Pep Guardiola will be a huge success and Manchester City and that he will bring the same kind of achievement to the club as he did at Barcelona.
"I believe so," he replied, when asked that very question.
"As a player, he was already playing with a very technical mind, so he was playing as a coach, thinking about everything like a coach. So he has a deep knowledge of football.
"I had the opportunity to play with the biggest coach in my career - that was Frank Rijkaard.
"But Guardiola's style of arranging the team, passing the ball and the beautiful game that everybody likes to watch, means it would be a pleasure for any player to have the honour to play for him."
High praise indeed for the pair.
