Brazilian starlet Vinicius Jr spoke to the press after helping current side Flamengo to the Copa Guanabara. Among the topics discussed was the upcoming Champions League last 16 second leg clash between PSG and Real Madrid.

"I'm a huge fan of Neymar, but I'm supporting Real Madrid in the Champions League because of Marcelo and everyone else that has been helping me off the pitch and giving me advice," the Brazilian told 'Globoesporte'.

That quote demonstrated that Vinicius already has some level of contact with the players who will become his Real Madrid team-mates. "They don't talk a lot, no. The ones who sent me the most messages are Marcelo and Casemiro. They congratulate me and tell me how things are going over there," he explained.

However, the youngster admitted that he has thought more about the World Cup than about La Liga of late, saying: "I dream of the World Cup. I was with Ronaldinho for a few days and he told me that they always take a younger player. I'm concentrated on being ready, should the opportunity arise."

The 17-year-old also touched on Flamengo's recent Copa Guanabara win. "Everyone that dreams of being a footballer dreams of that, of being a champions and scoring a goal in the final," he enthused.

Despite a dream start to his professional career, the Brazilian insists that he is focused on the future. "All that has already happened and belongs in the past. We will celebrate it and then get straight back to work," he insisted. "Now we have to focus on the next game and the next objectives. I've been receiving quite a few messages, a lot of people have congratulated me. I can only thank those who have helped me here at Flamengo, my family..."

Whilst he is enjoying his time in Brazil, the starlet is is no doubt as to his future plans. "I don't know how long I'm going to stay here, I'm going to take advantage of every second I'm here. My objective is to evolve every day and to help by scoring lots of goals," he concluded.
