The 25-year-old former Tottenham player and Chelsea's Gary Cahill collided in the air in the 14th minuted of the 2-0 Chelsea win.
The referee Neil Swarbrick stopped play and Mason received medical attention in front of his team's goal for approximately eight minutes before finally being carried out on a stretcher.
