Howe sorry for Bournemouth performance

Eddie Howe apologised to the Bournemouth fans who had made the trip to Huddersfield on Sunday after his team were comprehensively beaten 4-1.

Goals from Alex Pritchard, Steve Mounie, and Rajiv van La Parra, as well as an own goal lifted the 'Terriers' over the 'Cherries' in a one-sided encounter at the John Smith's Stadium. Bournemouth had been unbeaten in seven league matches before the match and had seem themselves rise to the top half of the table, but they couldn't cope with Huddersfield on they day. 

"I apologise to them for the performance," Howe said after the game. "There's not much else I can say."

"When you're aware of the financial and time sacrifices that people make, you want to reward them with an inspiring performance, one that they can go away and talk about for many years. I don't think that will be happening after that," he continued. 

Additionally, the Bournemouth boss is taking nothing for granted, insisting that they still fight for every point: "Yeah, I said it after the win against Stoke last week. For me, we're still in a relegation battle."
