Herrera: We passed Everton test with flying colours

Ander Herrera has the sung the praises of his Manchester United team after they overcame what he believes was a stern test in the form of Everton.

United moved level top with rivals City - whose record is identical after five matches - with a win against Everton.

The 'Red Devils' went ahead early with a Valencia stunner, but found hard work in the 'Toffees'. A flurry of late goals put the game to bed for Mourinho's men, scoriung 3 times in 7 minutes.

"It was really tough, Everton are a great team," said midfielder Herrera, who appeared as a substitute.

"We should have been winning by at least two goals but you know when you play against Everton you are going to suffer. That is what happened. "In the second half they had a couple of chances but the best keeper in the world (David de Gea) was there for us. After that we killed the game in the last minutes.

The Spanish midfielder told 'Manchester United TV': "We are happy, we are top of the table - fighting with Man City at the moment but we know Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, even Everton, they are going to be there."
