Joe Hart is likely to start in goal for England when they take on Slovakia in their World Cup qualifier on Sunday as Southampton 'keeper Fraser Forster has picked up an arm injury.

It was suggested that Forster may start ahead of Hart for Sam Allardyce's first game as England manager after the Torino loanee endured a poor Euro 2016 and was dropped as Manchester City's first choice goalkeeper at the start of this season by Pep Guardiola.

However, Hart can breathe a sigh of relief now as Forster will be unavailable for selection.

Forster's injury isn't thought to be serious, but the former Celtic 'keeper has returned to Southampton where he will receive treament.

Joe Hart recently joined Serie A side Torino on loan after Guadiola made it clear that he would not be in his plans at the Etihad Stadium.

It is thought that Sam Allardyce will receive video footage of Joe Hart while he is at Torino, that way the England manager will follow the goalkeeper's progress in Serie A.
