Guardiola: We just wanted to thank David Silva for what he's done
Pep Guardiola paid tribute to David Silva after the legendary midfielder signed off on his final Premier League game for Manchester City.
In the days leading up to the Manchester City - Norwich match, Pep Guardiola said on several occasions that the ideal would be to pay tribute to David Silva as soon as the crowd could return to the stands. This is his last season in England and the match against the Canaries was his last as a Man City player.
As there could not be any fans on the pitch, the coach had to pay tribute to him. He was substituted a few minutes before the end of the match and gave him a heartfelt hug as he emerged from the pitch. Then he went to the bench, satisfied with his performance.
