The Catalan manager wants to strengthen a weak spot for Manchester City in recent times: the back four.

Pep Guardiola's revolution at Manchester City has begun, and he is prepared to spend big so that the Citizens can compete with Europe's best next season. To do so, an aspect which needs improving is the defence.

Kyle Walker is his main objective. The Spurs man has already accepted Guradiola's terms, but Tottenham will not yield in their asking price of £50 million.

Another right-back could join the Citizens in the next few weeks, as Dani Alves has decided to leave Juventus in order to play for the manager he has described as 'the best in the world'.

Ryan Bertrand and Benjamin Mendy are the remaining two players Guardiola hopes to sign. Two left-backs to up the team's quality and cement their position among Europe's elite.

The former is a cornerstone in Southampton's project and the cheaper option. Mendy, on the other hand, has long since been of interest to City, but Monaco want at least £35 million.
