Man City are going all out this transfer window to once again fight for all the possible titles in the coming campaign. Pep Guardiola is determined to get his hands on the coveted Champions League trophy that, so far, has evaded him during his spell in Manchester.
For that reason, City have got out their chequebooks in their most recent deal, as Jack Grealish became the most expensive signing in the history of the Premier League. Aston Villa received 117 million euros for their star man.
The new member of Guardiola's squad is very much to the liking of the Spaniard, and this may well not be the last incorporation, given the rumours over Kane's signing continue to circulate. Meanwhile, those at the Etihad have now exceeded 1 billion euros spent during Pep Guardiola's spell at the club.
As newspaper 'Marca' summarised, the manager has spent some 1.032 billion euros since he arrived at City, a team who spent the most money in the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons, and could well repeat that same fate in the coming campaign.
In total, Pep Guardiola has already spent 1.578 billion euros over his entire career, which includes the transfers he brought in for both Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
